Celebrate Thanksgiving at Have A Heart’s Special Respite Care Day!
On Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Have A Heart is hosting a Thanksgiving-themed Adult Respite Care event! This day is specially designed for adults with physical and developmental disabilities, offering a safe, warm, and festive space to celebrate the season of gratitude and friendship.
What to Expect:
Gratitude Crafts: Participants can express what they’re thankful for by creating “Thankful Trees” and gratitude cards. Each person will have a chance to make something meaningful to share with friends or family, bringing the spirit of Thanksgiving to life.
Pumpkin Bowling and Harvest Games: We’ll have fun seasonal games like pumpkin bowling, a cornucopia bean bag toss, and a mini turkey hunt. These activities are inclusive and bring a touch of fall to the day!
Thanksgiving Treats: Participants will have the chance to make some Thanksgiving-inspired snacks. From mini apple pies to pumpkin treats, everyone will enjoy making—and eating—these festive goodies!
Fall Nature Walk: We’ll take a relaxing walk around our center’s beautiful grounds to enjoy the crisp fall air and autumn scenery. This is a lovely way to unwind, enjoy nature, and reflect on the season.
Giving Thanks Gathering: We’ll finish the day by gathering together to share stories, give thanks, and celebrate friendships. This is a wonderful way for everyone to feel connected and supported as we enter the holiday season.

Since 2008, Have A Heart has provided a safe, supportive environment where adults with disabilities can thrive. Located on 5 acres of farmland, our center includes an adaptive gym, beautiful outdoor spaces, and a welcoming barn where we host various activities and events that encourage independence, creativity, and socialization.
We proudly accept IRIS, Inclusa, Medicaid, and private pay for respite care and adult day services.
