S’More at Our August Respite Care Adventure!
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, Have A Heart is excited to host a special Adult Respite Care day with a camping and outdoors theme! This event is designed for adults with physical and developmental disabilities, offering a day full of engaging activities inspired by the great outdoors.
What to Expect:
Camping Crafts: Participants will get creative with fun camping-themed crafts. Whether it's decorating mini tents or making nature-inspired art, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Outdoor Games: We’ll have a variety of outdoor games that bring the spirit of camping to life. From relay races to nature scavenger hunts, these activities are designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all.
Cooking: Attendees will get a taste of the camping experience by learning how to prepare and enjoy campfire snacks. Think s'mores, trail mix, and other easy-to-make treats that capture the essence of outdoor cooking.
Storytelling Around the "Campfire": We’ll wrap up the day with a storytelling session around a simulated campfire. Participants can share stories, sing songs, or simply enjoy the cozy, camp-like atmosphere.

Since 2008, Have A Heart has been committed to supporting adults with disabilities. Our day center, surrounded by family farms, is nestled on 5 acres and features an adaptive gym and a beautiful barn used for fundraising events. We aim to create a safe, enriching environment where everyone can achieve their full potential.
Our daycare program offers personalized care plans that promote independence, creativity, and socialization. Through activities like arts and crafts, games, sports, cooking, baking, gardening, music, and outings, we encourage participants to build relationships and enjoy meaningful social experiences.
